The Tiger Sand Conch is a striking addition to any saltwater aquarium, prized for its bold striped pattern and active foraging behavior. This hardy snail thrives in established tanks with plenty of substrate, where it spends its time burrowing and hunting for detritus and small organisms.
Care is straightforward — maintain stable water parameters (pH 8.1–8.3, salinity 1.023–1.025) and provide at least 2–3 inches of fine sand or rubble for burrowing. They are generally peaceful and compatible with most reef inhabitants, though they may occasionally disturb delicate corals while foraging.
Diet consists primarily of leftover food, algae, and microorganisms in the substrate. In established tanks, they often find sufficient natural food; however, supplement with quality sinking pellets or chopped seafood if needed. Avoid copper-based treatments, as they are toxic to mollusks.
With proper care, Tiger Sand Conchs are long-lived and require minimal special attention once acclimated.
