Shipping policy

Processing Time

  • Dry goods orders are processed within 1–3 business days.
  • Live livestock orders are processed and shipped based on weather conditions and livestock health. We reserve the right to delay shipments to ensure safe live arrival.

Live Livestock Shipping

  • All live livestock is shipped via FedEx or UPS Priority Overnight to ensure the fastest possible transit time.
  • Orders ship Monday through Wednesday only to avoid weekend delays at carrier facilities.
  • A signature may be required upon delivery. You must be available to receive your package on the first delivery attempt.
  • We ship to the continental United States only. We do not ship to Hawaii, Alaska, or internationally.
  • Flat-rate shipping: $30 to Wisconsin, Illinois & Minnesota | $50 to all other continental US states.

Dead on Arrival (DOA) Policy

We stand behind the health of every animal we ship. If an animal arrives dead, here's how we handle it:

To file a DOA claim:

  1. Do not discard the animal or packaging
  2. Take a clear photo or video of the deceased animal in two stages:
    • First: The animal still inside the unopened, sealed bag as it arrived
    • Then: The animal after the bag has been opened
  3. Contact us at Badgerlandsaltwater@gmail.com within 2 hours of the delivery timestamp
  4. We will review your claim and respond within 1 business day

What happens next: Approved DOA claims are resolved with a store credit or replacement for the animal only (subject to availability). Shipping costs are non-refundable and will not be credited under any circumstances. We do not issue cash refunds on livestock.

Your claim will not be eligible if:

  • You were unavailable for the first delivery attempt
  • The package was held at a carrier facility or delivery was refused
  • The animal perished during acclimation due to improper handling
  • The claim is submitted more than 2 hours after delivery

Weather Holds

We monitor weather conditions at both our location and your delivery address. If temperatures are too extreme (below 20°F or above 95°F), we may place a weather hold on your order and notify you via email. No additional charges apply for weather holds.

Dry Goods Shipping

  • Dry goods ship via USPS, UPS, or FedEx depending on size and weight.
  • Standard delivery: 3–7 business days after processing.
  • Expedited shipping options may be available at checkout.

Order Tracking

Once your order ships, you will receive a tracking number via email. Please monitor your shipment closely, especially for live livestock orders.

Shipping Issues

If your order arrives damaged or is lost in transit, contact us within 48 hours of the expected delivery date at 608-554-3473 or Badgerlandsaltwater@gmail.com, Thursday–Monday, 11am–7pm CST.
