FireFish Goby

The Firefish Goby is one of the most elegant and graceful fish in the saltwater hobby. Its creamy white body transitions into a breathtaking gradient of fiery red, orange, and deep burgundy toward the tail, while its elongated first dorsal spine waves gently like a flag in the current. Peaceful, reef-safe, and relatively hardy, the Firefish is an ideal choice for both beginner and experienced reef keepers looking to add a flash of color and movement to their aquarium.

• Tank size: 20+ gallons with plenty of live rock for shelter and hiding spots
• Reef-safe: yes — completely safe with corals and invertebrates
• Peaceful and shy; best kept with calm, non-aggressive tankmates
• May be kept in pairs or small groups in larger tanks; can be territorial with conspecifics in smaller systems
• Diet: carnivore — readily accepts frozen mysis, brine shrimp, and quality pellets; also picks zooplankton from the water column
• A strong jumper — a secure, tight-fitting lid is essential
• Will retreat into rockwork when startled; provide ample hiding places to help it feel secure
