The Orange Diamond Goby is one of the hardest-working and most visually striking sand-sifters in the reef aquarium hobby. Its pale body is adorned with vivid orange and white diamond-shaped markings that flash as it glides just above the sandbed, continuously scooping mouthfuls of sand and filtering out the tiny organisms living within. This industrious behavior serves a dual purpose — feeding the goby and keeping your sandbed aerated, oxygenated, and free of detritus buildup. A true functional beauty.

Care Notes:

• Tank size: 30+ gallons with a deep, fine sand bed (3”+ recommended) to support its sifting behavior
• Reef-safe: yes — completely safe with corals and invertebrates; may briefly disturb loose coral frags placed on the sand
• Natural sand sifter — keeps the sandbed clean, aerated, and healthy by continuously turning over substrate
• Diet: sifts sand for small organisms and detritus; supplement with frozen mysis and brine shrimp to ensure adequate nutrition, especially in tanks with less populated sandbeds
• Generally peaceful; may show aggression toward other gobiid fish of similar appearance
• A jumper — a tight-fitting lid is recommended
